Exams/Tests

british flagAll of the courses here at the ELC are based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), and our students may study our courses to prepare for the following University of Cambridge exams: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, and IELTS.

Professional Requirements

University Admission Requirements

british flagUniversities from the English language speaking countries and from around the world recognise and accept student scores from the IELTS service. Students who successfully complete the IELTS Preparation Course(s) and who earn appropriate scores on the test will have met the respective university's requirement for demonstrating English language proficiency. To search the IELTS "Worldwide Recognition" database for names of those universities throughout the world who accept IELTS scores and for their respective required IELTS scores, click here.

These same universities also accept test scores from the Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Many students and university admissions personnel have questions related to comparing and reconciling the results from the IELTS and the TOEFL, and we at the ELC have provided the following table to help you understand the relationship between the scores from both the IELTS and the TOEFL:
